We all are Iron Man

Joe is a great man, be him really a Digital Pimp or not.  He also does raise a very good (and equally awesome) point in Marvel’s latest movies.  Iron Man had a cameo by Nick Fury (played by Sammy J) and Captain America’s shield was seen in the credits.  In the new movie ‘The Incredible Hulk’ (with Edward Nolan as the lead role) there is (either cut or not, I have not seen it yet) a cameo by Tony Stark in his Hulkbuster suit, as well as an apparent very secret ‘cameo’ by Captain America right near the end.  As they have no actor signed for the role of Steve Rogers, I am sure it will be something like his shield.  Some see this as a trend.

Cap is also rumored to have a small bit (still no actor, so we shall see) in the upcoming ‘Wolverine: Origins’.  Long before joining the X-Men, and less-long than the Mutant X project, Wolverine fought in World War II with Captain American.  Right here you see they are currently filming the actual WWII part of his story.  If they were to include an actual scene for Steve Rogers, his casting would long be signed for.

I find this cameo’ness very well done.  Both Iron Man and Hulk are very strong characters and very guaranteed to bring in the ticket sales.  First and foremost, they are two of the most explosive characters that Marvel has to offer, and if for nothing else, they could have lived off of selling just that bit of the character.

Wolverine is the oddball here.  He is a huge character, he is loved and cast very well.  Connecting him to Cap would tie the movie franchises together very well, connecting the   I was asked what Captain America’s powers really were, and to my knowledge, powerfully, he is nothing spectacular, very archetypal.  With the Soldier Serum Rogers was given a perfect human shape, with that he mastered all forms of fighting and became (I guess) the fastest human alive.  But the biggest part of his character was that he was a captain.  He was the captain of the (at least, Ultimate) Avengers.  In the years 1917 to 2006, he was a captain, the captain of America.  That is why I find it so hard to think that Marvel will not do something without this scene here.

Marvel is being very smart about these cameo’s, they have said, quite specifically, that everything is there for a reason.  So wait.
